In the short-time this website has been running there have been a lot of sugary food reviews. This needs to change and no this is not a New Years resolution which I hate the idea of. I just want to review more healthy products and therefore this post we will be looking at Kallo Organic Rice Cakes. The perfect healthy snack food which doesn’t taste of anything but when you are hungry it tastes like caviar…I have never had caviar by the way.
Towards the end of November I realised I really needed to make some drastic changes to my ... (Read more)
If you’ve read my previous post on the Popular Method Anti Bacterial spray, you would know that since motherhood, I have become more conscious of the cleaning products I use on a daily basis. The idea of touching my pure baby after being in contact with harsh chemicals was enough to make me spend a little bit more money on more non-toxic cleaning products rather than buying the cheap supermarket products as I had always done.
I’m not perfect and I can’t claim to use all non toxic products for the whole house but I’m making small changes here ... (Read more)
About a 2 months ago, something tragic happended. I was in the bathroom and I accidently dropped my favourite beard oil in the sink and it smashed everywhere. It was a travesty because there was still a solid third of oil left and I didn’t have a backup oil. So I decided to buy a Beard Oil from Hundred (Beard Company) from Amazon to see if it was worth it.
Now, I have not bought Beard Oil from Amazon for about 3 years. Mainly becuase I have been using Back2DRoots Beard Oil which I have reviwed and I recommend you ... (Read more)
I’ve always been a lover of international foods and cuisines. It’s been a bit of a dream of mine to travel to different countries around the world, and though I can’t really say that I’ve achieved that dream thus far, I do feel that by trying different cuisines you can get a sense of different cultures without having to step out of your home.
For a long time, I loved to explore Middle Eastern and Mediterranean foods but since marrying Mr Reviews a few years ago, I’ve been cooking a lot more East Asian foods, as it is one of ... (Read more)
I love Aldi. I really do. When I first heard of Aldi I thought it was a place that sold German car parts. That was a long time ago. But what I like about Aldi is that it has really good products…at low prices! So I wanted to share 5 best buys from Aldi for under £1.00. Why £1.00? I thought it was a bit of a challenge. As you know we like challenges from our 5 meals from Waitrose for £20.00 post which you can read here.
So before we get into the list, there were 2 other products ... (Read more)
I am back with an Aldi post and a review of their Triple Chocolate Swill Roll because it’s delicious. Sorry, sorry I know I should not be giving awya my opinion so early but you saw the title right? So let’s discuss why this is a hidden gem.
So some months ago I came across this box of Triple Chocolcate Swiss Roll. Now I surprised myself for buying this because I was never a fan of swiss rolls. What made me buy it? Well Aldi’s Specially Selected products just catch the eye, the packaging looks really good. Also most of ... (Read more)
It’s only recently I have discovered the new market of the dairy-free/ plant-based milk. It’s getting more and more popular for lots of reasons apart from being a vegan product. So I am excited to review the Oatly Oat Drink – Barista Edition because it’s taste really good in anything…apart from coffee.
As I grow older, my milk intake has decreased drastically. I tend to find myself falling sick after having milk, especially in the winter. I don’t know the exact cause but I think dairy makes me develop colds. So I have taken some interest in dairy-free milk 2 ... (Read more)
In the second post in my series, I’m back with another post on an item I purchased through an Instagram advert. Last time, I reviewed eco-friendly laundry capsules from Smol which were delivered through your postbox. I thought the Instagram algorithm had done pretty well to target me as a mum of a small child who always seems to have endless piles of laundry to do these days.
The next product I was targeted with, where daily contact lenses from a company called Hubble. Again, Instagram was quite spot on with targetting me for the ad as I have been ... (Read more)
Continuing with some more halal food reviews, I came across something rather interesting. A box of Salaam Foods Hot & Breaded Spicy Wings which was just eyeing up to be reviewed.
Growing up my group of friends loved chicken wings…well they still do. I was never the biggest fan. I preferred my chicken off the bone whichever way it was cooked. But you will find lots of fried chicken places in Asian populated areas so you get used to it…a little too much.
I remember when my older cousins used to return from London and bring back about 30 – ... (Read more)
I am back with reviewing more Halal products because we need to have more halal reviews on this website. Actually I just realised this is Onion Bhaji’s so we don’t have to say its Halal. Ah it’s okay, the company who produced this is Halal, so it’s all fine. Continuing on with my not-so-secret Asda Halal grocery haul, this post I will be discussing Shazan’s 10 Bite-Size Onion Bhajis.
I have a little history with onion bhajis. I worked in a family-run restaurant some time ago where we sold them round and flat. Then we started making them into palm-sized ... (Read more)
If I had to list my Top 3 favourite food groups, it would probably go something like Number 3: Eggs, Number 2: Rice and Number 1: Potato. I love the humble potato in all the many forms it comes in, mashed, crisps, baked and of course in chip form too. If I had to pick a meal off a menu, I’m pretty fine so as long as there are some chips on the side.
So, my authority on the issue now established, you will see now why it only seemed right that I take the lead on reviewing these chunky ... (Read more)
Okay please proceed with reading this post with caution if you have a sweet tooth. This review we are indulging ourselves into Lidl’s Deluxe 2 Belgian Chocolate Cheesecake. We picked this up on offer for £1.39 when we were really in need of small dessert to accompany our Saturday night meal.
Straight off the bat, this looks almost identically similar to the Gu Cheescake products which I and my family are a very big fan of. This Lidl version is much cheaper compared to the Gu’s at less than 70p per pot so I was happy with the purchase (and ... (Read more)

Becoming a parent has definitely been the single most life-changing experience of my life and like many people, before my baby came along, I made sure to carefully look into all baby items before purchasing them. In my research, I learnt of many new gadgets and items that I had never heard of before, despite being an Aunt to many nephews and nieces. One of those things were bedside cribs or co-sleepers which many mothers touted as a must-have necessity.
I’d only ever known of a Moses Basket before as a sleeping option for newborns but I was never really a ... (Read more)
I have a love/ hate relationship with grocery shopping. Sometimes the worst feeling on a Friday evening is knowing you have to make a weekend trip to the Supermarket. If you do it Saturday it feels like you not using that time to do something enjoyable. If you go Sunday then that’s eating up your rest day. But other times I like it, especially when I know we will be picking up some ingredients (and some dessert) for a Saturday night meal. Then there are times I come across something that makes me want to do cartwheels. What might make ... (Read more)
I am back to review one of the favourite foods in this nation. No, it’s not curry, although that is a favourite too. It’s battered fish! More specifically I am reviewing Lidls Deluxe 2 Jumbo Battered Cod Fillets. Why you ask. Because people need answers and I am here to provide those answers!
So getting straight into it. I want to talk about the price. It’s expensive, really expensive. These 2 Cod Fillets cost £3.19. I still shed a tear when I think about it. But Mrs Reviews wanted some good quality fish for dinner. She never really asks for ... (Read more)

I am not sure if I would see the day I would be eating meat-free nuggets. But here I am…eating meat-free nuggets.
The whole taking meat foods and making it plant-based is the new craze. Supermarkets are on the express meat-free producing bandwagon right now. Vegan burgers have also become very trendy and you can even buy things like impossible burgers in shops. Now I am all for crazy new food inventions and will be definitely diving into these products with Mrs Reviews. But I wanted to review one of the first meat-free products I came across which is Quorn. ... (Read more)
